Hello to you all!
The long awaited opening date is Finally here... well 4th July. We have missed seeing you and being in the salon creating amazing hair! We can’t wait to see you all but there will be changes, some good, some bad and some we just cannot do anything about!
Since closing our doors on 22nd March we haven’t been informed of much else and hairdressing as an industry has been left in the dark in regards to guidance and what’s expected of us. We’ve had to keep our heads strong, give you lovely things to look at through social media and prepare for your return. It’s been challenging and uncertain and we defiantly didn’t expect to be dealing with COVID19 after 18 months of opening. Anyway... we have had a lovely time with precious families and are fully charged to deal with your roots and split ends!
Here is some further information for your attention:
Want an appointment? We wish we could fit all of you in on 4th July we really do, please be patient with us while we contact those of you who were booked in during lockdown, you are our number one priority list. After we have contacted our priority list we will be opening our books to our full client list and new customers. To our knowledge we are able to carry out all of our services as usual but we will not be doing multiple clients at a time, therefore only 3/4 clients per stylist will be able to attend in one day
There will be a few changes within the salon when we return:
Social distancing we will require throughout the salon (apart from your stylist)
We will have a 15 minute clean down time between each appointment. This is a must for us to keep our workplace safe and to avoid cross contamination. This time will allow us to wash and sterilise our equipment and work stations ready for our next client. We will be using soapy water, followed by disinfectant on our work surfaces. Finally, Barbicide, Clippercide on our equipment and hand sanitiser on ourselves.
On entry please hang your coat on the stand on the landing and leave any bags in this area too. Please then use hand sanitiser provided, Wear a mask provided or you’re welcome to bring your own. (A mask is optional but preferred) and fill out a client health questionnaire using your own pen. Then wait for your stylist to greet you.
You will be one on one with your stylist from start to finish. This includes taking payment and booking your next appointment. If you could have a date in mind of your next booking this will speed this process up so no one is hanging around reception. We will be accepting cash and card payments as usual.
For child trims, We ask, if your child cannot attend alone, that we have a 1:1 ratio (one adult: one child) and the adult must wear a mask and be fully responsible for helping the child be socially distant from other clients whilst in the salon. Please call to book these services as they are not available for online booking, so we can make sure we are not overcrowding the salon.
Sorry, drinks and magazines will not be available at this current stage. This is simply to reduce cross contamination. You are more then welcome to bring your own refreshments, drinks, entertainment but we ask that you dispose of your own rubbish.
We are going to be working to a structured schedule and because of this we cannot afford any disruptions. Please arrive in time to your appointment, we cannot risk overcrowding the salon due to an overlap. If you are more than 5 minutes late we’re afraid we will have the right to refuse your slot or offer you a limited service. We know 5 minutes doesn’t seem long but that 5 minutes cuts into our sterilizing time between appointments meaning we can run late, then be late for our next client, causing a knock on effect for the day. This can add unnecessary pressure onto our day when it is already such a strange situation. Equally overcrowding can be caused by arriving too early, sorry we normally love to let you sit and read a magazine with a coffe
If you feel unwell, have recently traveled abroad, have any symptoms of Covid-19, or live with somebody who is unwell then we urge you to reschedule your appointment. If you are showing signs of being unwell within the salon we will have every right to refuse your entry or ask you to leave. If you have to rearrange we understand and will do our best to reschedule your appointment. Please give us a minimum of 24 hours notice to insure you don’t receive any charges.
Bookings will only be taken at the end or during your appointment if you are in the salon or calling us on 01482 886236. Our online booking is now switched on but don’t be alarmed if we call you to alter the time. This is so that we can manage our bookings manually to ensure spacing/ timings are correct Please do not enter the salon to make a booking, if you are passing give us a call and a member of the team will come down to you to make the appointment.
We’ve had a little makeover while we’ve been closed and we have 2 new team members:
Abbie our graduate stylist started her role with us 1 week before lockdown so most of you won’t have met her yet. She’s recently qualified and is studying her NVQ3 whist working with us for her apprenticeship.
Lauren is a artistic stylist with 10 years experience, and a great all round hair stylist.
We can’t wait to welcome you all back to the salon.
See you soon,
Jade & The Flourish Team x
